Sulphur

Sulfur is one of the important elements for plants. And after nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, it is the fourth essential plant element. Its color is pale yellow and it is very light and soft. When combined with hydrogen, this element has a smell similar to that of rotten eggs. Sulfur burns with a blue flame and emits a strange smell. This substance is insoluble in water, but it dissolves in carbon disulfide. It should be mentioned that sulfur has multiple forms in all its liquid, solid and gas states, the relationship between which is still not fully understood. Canada is its main producer. The main source of sulfur for the hydrogen sulfide industry is natural gas. Sulfur is involved in the structure of plant proteins and is very important for the functioning of enzymes. Sulfur is absorbed in plants in the form of sulfate, and this sulfate is present in the structure of two important proteins, methionine and cysteine. Sulfuric acid (H2SO4) is one of the most important elements used as an industrial raw material.
